Veritable is 91 and lives in Haiti. He is a widower with four children who also live in poverty and are unable to provide financial support. Veritable used to earn a living making straw mats, however, poor vision and pain in his hands have stopped him from working. With no source of income, day-to-day life is a constant struggle.

Lots of good news at Help the Aged this month, from our largest corporate donation ever to one of our volunteers featured in Outpost magazine. 
 
An outbreak of violence in Kenya has caused us to cancel three internships in Kenya and check up on our Grans there.

Bank of Montreal Gives HTA $50,000
 
Help the Aged (Canada) received its largest corporate donation ever on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007.  The Bank of Montreal presented a $50,000 cheque at our annual Christmas luncheon for volunteers.  Michael Castledine, Division Manager of Nesbitt Burns BMO, and Whit Tucker of Nesbitt Burns Ottawa presented the cheque.  Read More...
