Donald will be 87 years old this year. He is married and lives with his wife, who is Muslim. Donald was once a food supervisor for twenty years and worked in a restaurant for another twenty years.

Sponsorship for Donald would ensure that he has shelter, receives food, clothing and medical attention when necessary. Most importantly, your help will give him the knowledge that someone voluntarily cares about his situation.

Kolkata (Calcutta) is the capital of the state of West Bengal and is approximately 160 kilometers inland from the Bay of Bengal. Within 30 years, the population of Kolkata grew from over 4.4 million in 1961 to over 12 million today.   The impoverishment and the population explosion drove many of the poor from rural areas into the city.  The result of this population explosion is that two thirds of Kolkata’s population lives in the officially recognized slums, and there are 30,000 people to each square kilometer.  With no welfare system in India many of the elderly are forced to beg to support their daily needs.
