Case History:

Manuel is 77 years old and lives alone in a mud with a thatched roof which needs to be rebuilt.  He has little furniture, a bed without a mattress and blanket. He is a widower who had 2 children, who died, and has no grandchildren he can rely on for support.  He is Catholic and speaks Luo.  He has no source of income and no support from family. He depends on Joot Social Services for assistance.

Due to a broken left hip, Manuel walks with a cane and is very thin. The injury continues to be painful and requires medication.  Manuel also suffers from arthritis and his vision is cloudy.

Manuel was previously employed as a tractor driver and also did some gardening in the past.  He does not like meat but his favorite foods are vegetables, fish and porridge.  Manuel is friendly and enjoys spending time with other people. Due to his hip injury, he can no longer dance. He enjoys going to church, bible studies, and singing.  He has no animals and would be happy to have sheep or a goat.

Sponsorship will ensure that Manuel has food, shelter, clothing and medical attention when necessary. Most importantly it will show him that someone voluntarily cares about his situation.   .
